The mission of the HIRSP Authority is to provide access to high quality, affordable healthcare for all eligible Wisconsin residents.
If you have a medical condition that’s preventing you from getting health insurance or have lost your employer-sponsored coverage, you may still qualify for great benefits through HIRSP, the Health Insurance Risk Sharing Plan.
HIRSP is a Wisconsin non-profit that’s been helping people get health insurance for over 30 years. If you’re eligible, you can choose from multiple health plans and select your own doctor from a vast statewide network.

Important Notice about the HIRSP Sunset
On November 14th, both President Obama and Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker announced proposed changes to healthcare policy. President Obama’s announcement has NO IMPACT on HIRSP and its members; however, Governor Walker’s announcement may.
The Governor is proposing legislation that would allow HIRSP to extend coverage to the majority of its members for an additional 90 days, until March 31, 2014. This measure must still pass a special session of the legislature. The extension is intended to give extra time to members who are having difficulty securing new coverage in the online Marketplace.
